Over the course of the year, the Chamber holds more than 100 events and programs ranging from business seminars to major events that bring in national figures impacting the business community.
The Chamber kicks off the year with its Annual Meeting of the Membership and presentation of the Business of the Year Award. Past keynote speakers at the Annual Meeting have included Mike Tamburro, Vice-Chairman of the Pawtucket Red Sox, Boston Public Radio Co-Host Margery Egan, John Fish, CEO of Suffolk Construction, former Red Sox pitcher and now entrepreneur Bill “Spaceman” Lee, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Bill Rancic, hired by The Trump Organization as the first, “Apprentice.”
Business After Hours
Every month an average of 150 to 200 networkers attend the 15 or more Business After Hours events held throughout the year.
The Chamber is the only organization that routinely brings Washington D.C. and Beacon Hill to the membership. Notable speakers have included Governors and Lt. Governors, U.S. Senators, and U.S. Representatives. We are also the organization the produced the first ever Fall River Dinner Train excursion and the very first departure of the Dinner Cruise from Fall River.
Bristol County Home and Garden Show
Each year the Chamber partners with The Herald News, the Taunton Gazette and Diman Regional Vocational High School to produce the largest and best attended Home and Garden Show event in the region. Over 3000 potential consumers attend the Bristol County Home and Garden Show.
Community Service Awards
The Chamber established the tradition of honoring local volunteerism at what is now the Annual Community Recognition Awards Banquet. This year marked the 49th year of the Community Service Awards.
Outstanding Citizen of the Year
The Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award was created by the Chamber to highlight the achievements of one individual who has made a significant contribution over the course of a lifetime directed toward improving the human condition within the region. The Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award is the most prestigious award in the community. It is an award and honor that was named in memory of Roger Valcourt.
Bristol County Business Expo
The Bristol County Chamber of Commerce produces the region’s most successful business expo. For several years in a row the expo has sold out of booth spaces as people attended from all parts of the region and beyond to learn what products and services are available through area vendors.
Business Seminar Series
Forty or more seminars or workshops are held at the Chamber each year on a variety of business topics from growing a business to HR compliance.
